Orientation: The advent of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) and its digital disruptions require new competencies from leaders to ensure sustainability competitiveness business enterprises.Purpose study: purpose study was develop validate a scale measure leadership that will enable employees remain relevant.Motivation for Despite proliferation empirical studies on 4IR impact leadership, validated assessments age are scarce.Research approach, design method: A quantitative research approach followed with data collected (N = 241) multinational company in technology engineering industry. newly developed competency questionnaire distributed electronically respondents. analysed using SPSS AMOS programmes. analyses included descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor reliability analyses.Main findings: results confirmed supported valid reliable six-dimensional competence assessment by sub-competencies. six competences include embracing digital, facilitating drive, adaptiveness resilience, cultivating culture skills intelligence.Practical/managerial implications: can be used assess employee competencies, which positively affect performance.Contribution/value-add: provides holistic framework encompasses generational theory as well levels work theory.
